Is Microsoft Intune Free?

By controlling devices and applications, Microsoft Intune enables you to safeguard your workforce’s business data. This quickstart will walk you through creating a free membership to test Intune in a test environment.

Intune manages mobile devices (MDM), and mobile apps (MAM) via a secure cloud-based service operated through the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin portal. By using Intune, you can guarantee that your workforce’s corporate resources (data, devices, and applications) are set up, accessed, and updated correctly, following your company’s compliance rules and regulations.

When the sign-up procedure is complete, you will have a new renter. A tenant is a dedicated Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) instance where your Intune subscription is housed. The tenancy may then be configured, users and groups added, and licenses assigned to users. When you’re ready, you may assist users in enrolling their devices and adding required applications to kick-start the modern endpoint management process. As you go, you may configure and safeguard endpoints and perform other endpoint management functions.

Microsoft Intune a worth to Buy!

Microsoft Intune is offered to various customer requirements and organizational sizes, from easy-to-use management experiences for schools and small companies to sophisticated capabilities needed by corporate clients. Most Microsoft Intune licenses also provide Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager privileges for usage as long as the subscription remains valid. An administrator must have a license to manage Intune.

Microsoft Intune is included in the Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 E3, Enterprise Mobility + Security E5, Enterprise Mobility + Security E3, Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Microsoft 365 F1, Microsoft 365 F3, Microsoft 365 Government G5, Microsoft 365 Government G3, and Intune for Education.

In addition to the above, Microsoft Intune also included in the Microsoft 365 Education A5, Microsoft 365 Education A3,

Licensing for Intune-managed Configuration Manager devices

Co-management utilizes Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) capability called Windows 10 auto-enrollment to enroll existing Configuration Manager-managed devices into Intune for co-management at scale without user involvement. Auto-enrollment with co-management needs both Azure Active Directory Premium (AADP1) and Intune subscriptions. As of December 1, 2019, this scenario no longer requires the assignment of separate Intune licenses. Microsoft Endpoint Manager now offers Intune co-management licenses. The need for extra AAD P1 support remains unchanged for this scenario to operate. Other enrolment situations will need you to allocate Intune licenses.

In addition to the packages mentioned above, a Microsoft Intune user and device subscription are available separately.

A device-only subscription to Microsoft Intune is offered for managing kiosks, dedicated devices, phone-room devices, IoT, and other single-use devices that do not need user-based security and administration.

If a user or device benefits directly or indirectly from the Microsoft Intune service, including access to the Microsoft Intune service through a Microsoft API, the necessary Microsoft Intune license is needed.

Intune is not included in any of the licenses listed before.
